ABCD SHAMBLE
A competition format for 4-person teams. A shamble is a type of golf tournament that combines elements of a scramble with elements of regular stroke play. Like in a scramble, all members of a team (usually four) tee off and the best ball of the four tee shots is selected. All players move their balls to the spot of the best ball. From this point, the hole is played out at stroke play, with all members of the team playing their own ball into the hole.
SUMMER SIXES
A competition format for 4-person teams. Each player on the team plays his own ball throughout the round with a new partner every six holes. A four-man team decides which players will be paired together for each 6 holes. Pairings must change after 6 holes and not repeat. Both 2-man teams’ better score is used and then the 2 scores are added to determine the team combined score for each hole
1-2-3 BEST BALL
A competition format for 4-person teams. Each player on the team plays his own ball throughout the round. On each hole, a predetermined number of the lower scores are used. On the first hole, the lowest score among the four players counts as the team score. On the second hole, the two lowest scores become the team score. On the third hole, the three lowest scores become the team score. On the fourth hole, it's back to the one lowest score, and so on throughout the round.
THE PLATTE CUP
The Platte Cup is a 2-day TPA event featuring the Overland Park Men’s Club vs. the Englewood Men’s Golf Club. One day will be at Overland and the other at Broken Tee.
THE DENVER CUP
The Denver Cup is an annual invitational event pitting 16 man teams from each of the City of Denver Men’s Clubs. The Denver Cup is not a TPA event.
THE TPA CUP
The TPA Cup is a regular season points race similar to the FedEx Cup. The final event (9/29) is where all points are calculated and the TPA Cup winner is determined. The winner is presented with the TPA Cup trophy.
FINAL FOURS
Final Fours is a 4-man Team event in which each team member is required to play 9 holes in a 2-man scramble format and 9 holes in a 2-man best ball format. There is no restriction on pairings. Each pairing's best score is recorded and combined to determine the total score for each hole.
